A workshop and Class Series with Astra Coyle a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner with 21 years of experience.
The light is fading. The days are growing shorter. As the leaves fall and the seeds scatter, what do you need to gather? To take in? To prepare? What will provide sustenance as the light fades?
And what’s worth leaving behind, to compost, to become something else.
This is the work of the season: refinement, discernment.
Like the lungs, breathing in what nourishes and keeping out what doesn’t. Not with force – with precision and training. Like a a bell, clear – not a drawn-out mental decision.
Over this workshop and the six-week class series that follows: we’ll explore discernment as felt sense. An embodied skill — not just a mental exercise. You can learn to sense and feel it in yourself. You will be able to count on to guide you.
What have you been unconsciously carrying around?
What did you get convinced was valuable, without really deciding for yourself?
What do you keep doing on autopilot, without ever choosing it?
What have you genuinely invited in, because you need it to grow?
You don’t have to answer these with your mind. The answer will arrive without the mind.
Using gentle, verbally-guided Awareness Through Movement lessons, along with the complimentary modalities Astra has studied, you’ll build the same quality of attention the season itself is asking for: precise, unhurried, honest, discerning, clear. You’ll do this through gentle inquiry: moving, playing, experimenting, showing your body option after option so the animal, the undomesticated you can choose. Again and again.
“Astra is one of the most passionate, inspired complementary health professionals I have ever met. She is utterly present in her demeanor, thinks outside the box, and inspires positive results in even the toughest of cases.” ~ Katey S.

In this series, you will:
- Feel the difference between what an effort gives you and what it quietly takes
- Breathe deeper, fuller, more efficiently – as your body learns to release what it no longer needs to hold
- Carry less effort into everyday movement: walking, writing, lifting, reaching for anything at all
- Discover that as you lighten your load, everything gets easier — not because you’re doing more, but because you’re carrying less
- Learn to sense what’s worth letting in, what nourishes you, what doesn’t
- Bring into awareness patterns you’re recreating without having chosen them
- Build discernment as a bodily skill, not just a mental one
- Practice precision over force – power within.
- Deepen practices you already have
“Class is great, but what I really like best is how I feel after class. For the rest of the day. Whether I’m driving home, putting away dishes, or putting on music to dance, my body moves with fluid, balanced, and graceful rhythms. This is the physical reality I want to always live in.” – Whitney B.
This is for you if:
- You gather and gather but rarely digest – always reaching for more before you’ve let yourself take in, appreciate, or be satisfied by what you already have
- You’re carrying more than you need to – obligations, commitments, yes(es)— and it shows up in irritation, collapse, and a tired, aching body
- You want to get sharper at trusting what’s actually yours to keep
- You’re curious about somatic or nervous-system-based movement work, even with zero experience
- You’re an athlete or mover wanting to refine coordination — have your body use less effort and be better at what it
No experience needed. All bodies welcome.
You don’t need to know anything about your body, wear special clothes, or be flexible. You can keep your socks on;-) Just show up and you will change;-)

What People are Saying
“I’m blown away by my experiences in your classes.
The thing that I remember hearing about your classes was that the movements are very subtle and small. At the time, I did not associate subtle, small movements with profound effects, so I did not take the time to check out your classes for the first few years you offered them. I was deep in work and family mode.
Then one day, I decided to join a class….even after the first class I started to notice that I hold a lot of tension in my body, even when doing the most menial tasks. I remember brushing my teeth after my first class with you and being shocked at how much tension I held in my head, neck, shoulders, and arm. I was able to clearly feel all the extra work my muscles were doing and relax into all the places that didn’t need to be contracting in order to get the job done. I’ve since noticed this in other simple, daily actions like driving, writing, and typing.
Class is great, but what I really like best is how I feel after class. For the rest of the day, whether I am driving home, putting away dishes, or putting on music to dance, my body moves with fluid, balanced, and graceful rhythms.
This is the physical reality I want to always live in.
My life has become a lot easier since I started attending your classes. The lessons that I’ve learned in your classes have inspired and encouraged me to find the easiest ways to navigate through these big life changes with grace and ease.
I used to have a hard time “turning off” and relaxing, and I would keep pushing on until I crashed. Now I am developing the ability to listen to my body and attend to my needs, and this is helping me create a more fulfilling life.
I’m finally feeling like I can find a balance of a successful career, while also nourishing my own physical and emotional needs AND being available for my family. I’m beginning to feel like my cup is full, and I have extra energy to be engaged in my community and give back to others. And I’m really enjoying that!
I would definitely recommend Astra’s classes to anyone who is interested in learning to listen to their body. She’ll help you to discover where you hold unnecessary tension so that you can ultimately release it. Learning to do this within our physical bodies is one huge benefit, BUT then we can take this lesson of doing less while being more efficient and joyful into our daily lives. And who doesn’t want that?
Your classes are helping me understand a Taoist teaching that I’ve always been intrigued by, but never quite comprehended until now: do less and less until nothing remains undone. Bringing this reality into the busy, overwhelming, and labor-intensive life I’d created for myself has been incredibly transformative. I’m now able to listen to my body and nurture my needs, which has given me the energy to engage more deeply in my community.”
– Whitney Brasington
I am continuously amazed at how much I learn about my body and think in ways I never thought before. Astra’s teaching has been life changing for me.
