Astra Coyle
Somatic Educator, Teacher, and Optimist

I’ve spent over 20 years helping people come home to their bodies — through Feldenkrais, nervous system work, dance and a deep belief that humans are built to change, adapt, and grow.

My path here wasn’t linear. I started in the arts and philosphy before training as a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner. Somewhere along the way, I realized the through-line in everything I’d witnessed — in bodies, in nervous systems, in communities was the same: real change happens through the body, with it, not around it.

In 2018, I gave a TEDx talk on how the body creates habits. It’s still the clearest distillation of what I believe: that transformation isn’t something we think our way into. It’s something we move our way into and embody.

Today, I run The Embodiment School, working with individuals and groups across Western North Carolina and around the world — from people healing from injury or trauma, to executives looking for more presence and capacity, to entire communities doing the harder work of collective repair.

I live in Celo, NC, part of an intentional community that shapes how I think about individual and collective healing — because I don’t believe the two are separate.
