Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in the retreat price?
Your registration includes lodging for two nights at Mt. Mitchell  eco-retreat center, all meals, including arrival meal and meal day of departure, and 10+ hours of guided practices with Astra Coyle. You’ll enjoy Awareness Through Movement  lessons, Nervous system balancing,  meditation, and time for reflection in community.

Astra will also offer a follow up check in class via Zoom a few weeks after the Retreat. This will give us another chance to gather, share, ask questions and deepen our learning.

What’s not included?
Travel to and from the retreat is not included. Once you register, we’ll send details about driving directions, carpool options, and what to pack.

Do I need any prior experience with Feldenkrais, meditation, or nervous system work?
Not at all. Everything is guided and accessible, no matter your level of experience. Many women come to the retreat as complete beginners.

What are the accommodations like?
The retreat center is on a peaceful quiet mountain side with views of The Appalachain mountains near the world class protected headwater and  South Toe river.  Accommodations are beautiful, and peaceful. You may choose a private room or a shared room (two women per room). If you choose to share a room, you are responsible for choosing your roommate. All of the spaces are cozy and comfortable.

Can I come alone?
Yes! Many women attend without knowing anyone beforehand. This is a safe and welcoming space, and you’ll quickly feel at home in the group.

What if I have dietary restrictions?
The chef can accommodate common dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free). You’ll be asked about restrictions when you register.

What if I need to cancel?
Life happens. If you cancel before Nov. 30, 2025, you’ll receive a refund minus a $350 non-refundable portion. After Nov. 30, all payments are final. You may transfer your spot to another participant with prior approval.

What should I bring?
We’ll send a full packing list closer to the retreat, but essentials include comfortable clothes for movement, a refillable water bottle, a journal, and any personal items you need.
